can't change the report view

can't change the report view

Hello,
I like using Outlook Task because it’s so simple and effective. But I came across one problem. I figured out how to add other columns and change the sort order. And it works allright until I try to make a report. For some reason it stays the same. What should I do?
Thanks

Hello, Jessica

That happens because when you customize your Outlook Task, it doesn’t reflect in the report template. If you want to change it, you’ll have to do it manually. Select Fetch Tasks , then Options . There you’ll see the report template file textbox. That’s the template you want to modify.
Outlook Task template is a simple .htm file, with all it's tags and structure except two things:

The extension of template file is .htrt
You should use special tags inside to create the report appearance you need.

Supported tags
<comment1> - the top comment text
<comment2> - the button comment text
<band> ... </band> - you should put the HTML code for the single item between this tags.
Other supported tags named as the correspondent text boxes in Outlook:

<Subject>, <StartDate>, <DueDate>, <ReminderTime>, <PercentComplete>, <Complete>, <DateCompleted>, <ActualWork>, <TotalWork>, <Status>, <Mileage>, <NoAging>, <Importance>, <Categories>, <Companies>, <ContactNames>, <CardData>, <Body>

Please note: If you don’t feel very confident about modifying the report template make sure you back up the old file BEFORE you make any changes!
